Setting up your Windows based PC to connect to our VPN server (OpenVPN)
This guide is only for computer running Windows operating system -
Windows 2000 and onwards. For user using Windows Vista, you must follow
the additional instruction at the end of this README.
Part 1: General installation guide
1) Double click on the installation file
2) You will see Welcome to the OpenVPN Setup Wizard Pop Up - Click NEXT
3) On the next window, click I AGREE
4) On the next window, click NEXT - There is no need to select or deselect
any components to install.
5) On the next winows, click INSTALL - The destination folder should
be kept as default which is C:\Program Files\OpenVPN
6) Wait till the installation is complete and then click on the NEXT
button
7) Click FINISH on the next window to complete installation.
Part 2: Configuration your computer to connect to our VPN Server
1) Locate the config.zip file we have provided you and then unzip the
contents of this file to C:\Program Files\OpenVPN\config
- Overwrite / Replace any files if prompted. All the files you need
for your VPN service to work is in the config.zip file we have provided
you.
Part 3: Connecting to our VPN server
1) Click on the OpenVPN GUI in your Start - All Programs Menu to start
the service.
2) Find the OpenVPN Gui icon on your bottom right task bar (near your
computer clock) and double click it to connect to our VPN server.
This section is for users running Windows Vista Only
In order to access our VPN service, you need to TURN OFF Windows Visa
UAC feature. Most users may have already turned this feature off.
To turn this feature off, go to Control Panel > User Accounts, then
click Turn User Account Control Off option and follow on-screen instruction
to confirm it.
